The Summer Party is still going ahead today for all those who have bought tickets with the Pimms Reception starting at 12.30pm

Sunday’s game against Leicestershire starts another important week for Middlesex CCC.
In the coming eight days we play four CB40 matches, games that will pretty much inform us whether we will qualify for the semi-finals of this summer’s CB40 competition. Results elsewhere – Leicestershire defeated Netherlands last weekend – mean that if we were to win all four matches we would have an excellent chance of reaching the semis.
In the last season and a half we have played some excellent 40 over cricket and the aim, obviously, is for that to continue. In our last match, against Lancashire at Lord’s, we were magnificent. Paul Stirling and Eoin Morgan scored superb hundreds to take us to a record total, and we were committed in the field.
For the game we welcome back Morgan from England duty. Morgan continued his excellent form with England during the one-day series against West Indies and Australia. Unfortunately it seems as though Steven Finn will not play as the England management are keen to rest him before next week’s First Test against South Africa.
As is always the case we need to be at our best if we are to defeat Leicestershire, who will be buoyed by the victory over Netherlands. Immediately after the match we travel to Manchester to play Lancashire in a day/night match at Old Trafford. This will be a tough game against a strong and dangerous one-day side.
The enjoyable thing is that we are still very much in contention and this should add extra edge to the performance of the players, weather permitting.
Middlesex are pleased to announce the following 14-man squad for this CB40 fixture at Uxbridge CC:
