Being awarded a County Cap is a major moment in a player's career and Middlesex CCC awarded County Caps to two of its players, Joe Denly & Toby Roland-Jones at the lunch interval today at Lord's.
Both players were presented with their caps by Middlesex President, Geoff Norris, on Day 1 of the LV= County Championship match at Lord's.
Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser commented..."Since joining Middlesex from Kent last winter Joe has made a huge impression on everyone at the club. In his first full season he has shown his class on numerous occasions and has played significant innings in all three forms of the game. To date Joe has scored almost 1,300 runs for Middlesex in 2012 and at the start of this match was the seventh highest run scorer in LV=CC Division One.
"Toby is a product of Middlesex’s youth system and since signing for the club as a professional in 2010 he has taken 169 wickets in all forms of the game. 2012 has been an outstanding season for Toby and he is currently the top wicket-taker in the country with 84 scalps in first team cricket.
"I am sure everyone associated with Middlesex County Cricket Club would like to congratulate both Joe and Toby, and wish them continued success during their careers with the club."
