Middlesex County Cricket Club are pleased to announce that Joe Denly, Tom Smith, Ravi Patel and Nick Gubbins have signed new contracts with the club.
Denly is currently Middlesex’s second highest run-scorer in LV=CC cricket in 2012 and has signed a new three year deal. The contract will keep him at Middlesex until at least the end of the 2015 domestic cricket season.
Smith has been an ever present in Middlesex’s limited over teams for the past couple of seasons and has signed a one-year extension to his current deal.
Patel was originally due to return to Loughborough University in October but has decided to continue playing cricket full-time. The left arm spinner has signed a two-year contract with the club.
Nick Gubbins has risen through Middlesex’s Academy and played regular 2nd XI cricket in 2012. The top order batsman will go to Leeds University in October and has been awarded with a three-year summer contract to see him through his time at University.
Commenting on the signings Middlesex’s Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser, said: “We are delighted these players have signed extended or new contracts with Middlesex. These signatures in many ways highlight what we are trying to achieve at the club, in that the players concerned are either highly talented and experienced, gifted and making their way in the game or young and with huge potential. We hope they will all play an important role in the club as it continues to move forward.”
