Middlesex CCC are delighted to announce that Corey Collymore has signed a new one-year contract with the club. The deal means that Collymore will return to Middlesex for a third consecutive summer.
In the two seasons Collymore has so far spent with Middlesex he has taken 60 first-class wickets at an average of 30.48 and 10 CB40 wickets at 27.9 runs apiece.
Commenting on Collymore signing his new deal Middlesex County Cricket Club’s Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser, said: “I am delighted that Corey has agreed to play for Middlesex for at least another season. Moving forward, I do not expect Middlesex to see a great deal of Steven Finn and to maintain a strong championship challenge I believe a club needs at least four proven high quality fast bowlers, and Corey definitely fills one of those roles.
“Corey had a difficult year in 2012 but I look deeper than the figures that appear on a piece of paper. I watched a lot of Corey’s bowling in 2012 and he bowled without luck and far better than his figures suggest. I know he still has a lot to offer Middlesex CCC on and off the field of play. He remains an intelligent and high quality bowler who is always an asset to his captain.
“Corey is an excellent professional who sets the right example. He has huge pride in everything he does and he continues to use his wisdom and experience to provide our young and senior cricketers with the advice and guidance they require.”
