The club will kick off their 2013 competitive season with a visit to Trent Bridge on 10 April, as Middlesex take on Nottinghamshire CCC as their first opponents in the LV= County Championship.
Just a week later First-Class cricket makes a welcome return to Lord’s, as newly promoted Derbyshire visit the Home of Cricket as Middlesex’s first Championship opponents at home.
In all, Middlesex will play seven of their home County Championship matches at Lord’s, with Uxbridge’s Park Road Ground being chosen to host the club’s one outground First-Class fixture of the season, in a match versus 2012 Champion County Warwickshire starting on 8 July.
Middlesex’s chase for One-Day silverware starts on 6 May, with Glamorgan in opposition, as the club look to go one better than the group runners up finish they secured in 2011 and 2012, by snaring one of the four semi-final spots up for grabs in the Clydesdale Bank 40.
Radlett Cricket Club will also play host to a Middlesex CB40 game for the very first time, on bank holiday Monday 27 May, giving many Middlesex members their first glimpse of the new cricket facility which has received universal praise from all corners, including several members of the current England Test team.
Middlesex’s other CB40 group opponents come in the form of Gloucestershire, Somerset, Yorkshire, Leicestershire and the Unicorns.
In the Friends Life t20 Middlesex kick off their campaign with a Friday night encounter away to Kent in Canterbury on 28 June, before returning to Lord’s on Sunday 30 June, for an afternoon encounter, with the Sussex Sharks in opposition.
Like 2012, Lord’s will host three of Middlesex’s five FL t20 group matches, with Richmond and Uxbridge again being used as the club’s other twenty20 home grounds.
Middlesex’s final fixture of the 2013 season begins on Tuesday 17 September against Yorkshire, in an away encounter at Headingley Carnegie
“The release of the coming season’s domestic cricket fixtures has been as eagerly awaited as ever, and we are delighted to be able to announce that we will be playing seven of our home County Championship matches at the Home of Cricket in 2013.
Our thanks go to all at MCC for their flexibility and continued support in making this happen, as we know how important Championship matches at Lord’s are for the vast majority of Middlesex members.
We are also thrilled to again be hosting three of our Friends Life t20 matches at Lord’s, with two under floodlights on Thursday nights. There really is no better ground in the country to watch t20 cricket, especially if we can deliver the goods out there in the middle.
Looking at the group that we’ve been drawn in for the Clydesdale Bank 40, I am extremely hopeful that we can reach the knockout stages of the competition, and am optimistic that another Lord’s One-Day final could realistically be ours for the taking.
Here’s to a successful 2013 for Middlesex County Cricket Club”
