Middlesex County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that all-rounder Gareth Berg has signed a long-term contract extension that will see him represent the county until at least the end of the 2015 season.
Berg, who broke into the Middlesex first eleven ranks in 2008, has firmly established himself as an important and regular part of the current Middlesex side in all forms of the game. With over 500 runs and 35 wickets to his name in First-Class cricket throughout the 2012 season, Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser, was delighted to reward Berg with a deserved long term contract extension to safeguard his future at Middlesex. Fraser commented...
“Ever Since I re-joined Middlesex as MD of Cricket, I’ve come to realise what an important, gifted and dangerous cricketer Gareth is. He is still young in cricketing terms, having come into the professional game late, however I am in no doubt that he has a huge amount to offer to Middlesex cricket over the coming years.”
Having signed his contract extension, Gareth Berg said……
“Since arriving at Middlesex five years ago I’ve worked extremely hard to prove myself and establish my position as a regular in the club’s first eleven plans. Having successfully done so, I am delighted that the club have been able to reward me with an extension to my contract which will see me remain here for at least the next three seasons.
I am extremely excited about what the next three years has in store for me and my teammates here at Middlesex, as I feel that we are on the cusp of achieving great things and success is well within our reach.
I’m looking forward to repaying the club’s faith in me and my ability, and will do all within my power to help Middlesex secure honours in the very near future.”
