On Tuesday 2 April, 11 members of the Middlesex junior disability squad travelled to the K2 Leisure Centre in Crawley in Sussex to play in an inter-county indoor competition. Middlesex played 4 games against an established Sussex squad and won 1 of the games – the first win for a Middlesex disability squad in their first ever inter-county competition - well done boys! One of the other games was only lost by 1 run, showing just how competitive the squad is after just two training sessions!
All of the boys’ played extremely well throughout the day, with some sensational performances from a few stand-out players.
Well done again to all who played on Tuesday and a huge thank you to the Junior Head Coach, Denise O’Neill- we look forward to seeing you all again soon. Last but not least, many thanks to the parents who gave up the day to drive the squad down to Sussex and back (in terrible traffic!) and support the team.
Some of these boys will be straight back to the MCCC Indoor School on Sunday for the start of our senior squad training sessions! Others staying in the junior squad, will have their next training session in a few weeks after a short break.
If our team’s exploits have inspired you or anyone you know (of any age – junior or senior) to get involved in Middlesex disability Cricket, then please contact:
