MIDDLESEX SIGN KYLE MILLS FOR FRIENDS LIFE T20 CAMPAIGN
Middlesex County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that New Zealand’s Kyle Mills has signed a contract to play for the club in this summer's Friends Life t20 competition.
Mills will join up with Middlesex CCC on Friday morning, the day after New Zealand's second t20 International against England at The Oval.
The fast bowler will play for the Middlesex Panthers against Kent Spitfires at Canterbury that evening and is available to play in all of the Club's t20 Group matches, as well as the Quarter- Finals and on Finals Day should the team progress that far.
Commenting on the signing of Mills, Middlesex CCC's Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser, said…..
"There are several reasons why Kyle is a good and exciting signing for Middlesex CCC. During the recent Champions Trophy he highlighted what a high quality white ball bowler he is by topping the tournament averages and having one of the best economy rates.
Kyle will bring experience and quality to our attack, with his presence also allowing the club to manage the workload of a bowling attack that is competing in all three domestic tournaments.
This season we play two LV=CC matches in the middle of our t20 campaign and, ideally, we want to keep our fast bowers as fresh as we can. At the moment we have two or three bowlers who are either injured or recovering from injury.
Corey Collymore is not contracted to play t20 cricket and we will also lose Tim Murtagh to Ireland for a week in early July.
The squad is looking forward to welcoming Kyle on board."
On signing for the Middlesex Panthers, Mills said…..
“I am really looking forward to contributing to what I hope will be a successful campaign for Middlesex. It's exciting to be involved in a club rich in history and tradition."
