Middlesex need to respond positively following the disappointment of losing to Hampshire and just missing out on the Friends Life t20 quarter finals. As a club we are still in two competitions and have a lot to play for in the next eight weeks.
The excellent win at Sussex placed us right back in the LV=CC title mix and a strong performance against Durham, who are up there too, is vital. Sadly, James Harris and Toby Roland-Jones are still recovering from injuries but both are expected to be available to play in our upcoming YB40 games against Unicorns, Glamorgan and Gloucestershire.
Middlesex CCC, however, do welcome back our two most high profile players - Steven Finn and Eoin Morgan. Naturally we are delighted to see them wear Middlesex's colours and hope they will make a positive contribution to our title challenge. Steven played in the second innings of the win over Sussex but this will be Eoin's first red ball game of cricket for Middlesex for approximately a year. Joe Denly is likely to open the batting alongside Sam Robson.
Tom Smith, who has been on loan to Gloucestershire CCC has had his loan period extended with the club.
Middlesex CCC is pleased to announce the following 14-man squad for our LV= County Championship match v Durham, starting tomorrow, Friday 2 August at Lord's Cricket Ground:
Gates open at 10am and Play starts at 11am. Tickets can be bought on the gate and cost £16 for adults (£5 on 4th day), £8 for Over 65s (free on 4th day), and £5 for Under 16s (free on 4th day).
The second day of this match, Saturday 3 August, sees us celebrate our annual Ladies' Day here at Lord's, with all ladies gaining free entry to the ground. For more information about Ladies Day please CLICK HERE.
