Middlesex CCC is pleased to announce that Tom Helm has been given permission to go on loan to Glamorgan. Helm, a 19 year old fast bowler, will be available for selection for Glamorgan's LV=CC game against Worcestershire on Sunday.
Helm made both his List A and first-class debuts for Middlesex in 2013 and performed well on both occasions. He took three wickets on his List A debut v Unicorns at Southend and had match figures of 5-78 on his LV=CC debut v Yorkshire at Headingley.
Commenting on Helm's move, Middlesex's Managing Director of Cricket Angus Fraser said "Tom is at the stage of his career where he is ready to play first eleven cricket and we are delighted that this move may well give him the opportunity. We rate him very highly and his progress was one of the reasons why we were prepared to release Corey Collymore at the end of the 2013 season.
"In October we did not expect to see as much of Steven Finn as we have and the knock on effect of that is that Tom is currently further down the pecking order that we expected. Everyone at the club is sure he will benefit from the experience of working with good people at Glamorgan."
