There are also two exciting coach development opportunities in Middlesex.
A VIEW FROM THE TOP
Angus Fraser, Middlesex Managing Director of Cricket and an England Selector, has kindly agreed to talk to Middlesex coaches and to answer our questions at an evening event on Friday 11 July 2014. This will take place in The Centenary Club House, Trailfinders Sports Club (home of Ealing Trailfinders CC - Vallis Way, Ealing, W13 0DD). Please arrive at about 7.00pm so that you can get a drink and be ready for Angus to start at 7.30pm.
The cost of the evening will be £5.00, payable at the door on the night, which will pay for some sandwiches after the talk. I hope that the formal part of the evening will be followed by some useful conversations in the bar about coaching in Middlesex, during which we can share ideas and coaching drills that have worked successfully in our clubs.
If you would like to attend this event please email Jeff Barnes, Secretary MCoA Committee at email@example.com, so that he can organise the numbers for food. Please do not just turn up on the night without letting Jeff know you will be attending.
Angus is passionate about cricket in Middlesex and a great supporter of our County Age Group Cricket. It should be a terrific evening and just the sort of event that MCoA members have been asking for.
SPECIALIST WICKET-KEEPING COACHING
Josh Knappett, one of the Middlesex Regional Academy Coaches and the County wicket-keeping coach, has now started his specialist sessions on Wednesdays for the older County Age Group wicket keepers. Josh has kindly agreed to open up these sessions to MCoA members to watch him deliver, in order to try and up-skill more coaches in this area.
The sessions will generally be held at Merchant Taylors’ School and start at 6.00pm. The sessions are aimed at coaches at about UKCC Level 2 or for wicket keepers who are looking to coach. If you are interested in joining Josh for these sessions please email him at firstname.lastname@example.org, so that we can manage numbers.
The insights from Angus and the sessions with Josh are two fantastic coach development opportunities, which I hope MCoA members will support enthusiastically.
