Following a month in which he hit an individual score of 191 against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge and an unbeaten innings of 81 against Northamptonshire, Eoin Morgan was today named as the Middlesex's Brooks Macdonald Player of the Month for June 2014.
Morgan played just the two LV= County Championship Division One matches in the month of June, yet hit an incredible 319 runs at an average of 106.33, which saw him become Middlesex’s third highest run scorer in the County Championship this season and saw him take his first-class batting average to over 51 for the season.
His knock of 191 against Nottinghamshire in early June came off 265 balls, included 29 fours and 2 sixes, whilst his unbeaten innings of 81 in the next game against Northamptonshire came off 95 balls and included 6 fours and 2 sixes.
Eoin also added 87 runs to his tally in the NatWest T20 Blast throughout June, with a highest innings of 69, scored against Essex at Chelmsford, with his runs coming at an average of almost 22 in the short format of the game.
Eoin was this evening presented with a magnum of Brooks Macdonald champagne and a cheque for £1,000 in front of the Pavilion at Lord’s during the interval of tonight’s sell-out NatWest T20 Blast match against Surrey.
