Wisden City Cup

Twenty20 cricket is capturing everybody’s attention at the moment and in Middlesex we are giving enthusiastic cricketers aged 16 to 25 an opportunity to display their ability in a high level competition to be played in July and August. Teams representing the four quarters of Middlesex will play two games against each opposition and the top two teams will then play off in a final. In September the best players in all four teams will play against a Middlesex CCC playing staff side. We are inviting players for trials over the next few weeks at four centres around the County.

We are also holding a competition for the 14 to 16 age group targeted at those who are not playing in conventional club and school teams.

The competitions major sponsor ‘The Foundation for Sports and the Arts ‘ see this an excellent example of how the social fabric in Britain can benefit by bringing the three principle cricket communities (native white, British Asian and Afro-Caribbean ) together in an area of common interest.
