U17 Fixtures

UNDER 17 ECB COMPETITION FIXTURES 2010

'Under 17's Reach National Final'

For the second time in three years the Middlesex Under 17 side has reached the ECB Two Day County Championship Final. Wins against Kent, Sussex and Essex in the group stage followed by a hard earned 57 run win against Devon at Torquay CC last week in the semi-final will see the side line up against Nottinghamshire at The St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury on the 1st and 2nd September.

Academy players James Kettleborough and Adam Rossington have both scored heavily, Rossington hitting 162 against Kent and Kettleborough's 92 against Devon proved to be the key innings in the semi-final. Nick Gubbins and Nish Selvakumar have provided solidity in the middle order, Selvakumar rescued the innings against Sussex with a patient 82 and Gubbins played fluently with the lower order scoring 89* against Kent and 76 against Essex.

The bowling attack has been outstanding in dismissing all five sides that they have come up against. Sixteen year-old Harry Podmore has led the attack superbly picking up wickets in every game, Jamie Porter and Doug Pratt have provided solid support with the new ball and spinners Shaan Khan and Dipayyan Paul have given the attack control and a cutting edge when the wickets have turned.

The squad for the final will be announced over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
