Franklin & Rayner awarded County Caps

over 8 years ago | Uncategorised

Being awarded a County Cap is a major moment in a player’s career and Middlesex today awarded County Caps to both James Franklin and Ollie Rayner.

James Franklin has made a huge impression on the Club, both on and off the field since joining at the start of the season. James has captained the team in a calm, considered and skilful manner in the absence of Adam Voges and has this summer scored over 900 runs and taken more than 20 wickets. James has scored two hundreds for Middlesex, the first being a match-winning unbeaten 115 against Somerset at Taunton in April.

Ollie Rayner has become an extremely popular and valuable member of the Middlesex team and offers input in all areas of the game. Since joining from Sussex in 2011 he has to date taken more than 140 wickets, scored over 1,800 runs and claimed over 100 catches in Middlesex colours. The highlight of his career so far is match figures of 15-118 against Surrey at the Kia Oval in September 2013.

Both James and Ollie were presented with their County Caps by Middlesex President, Harry Latchman, at the start of the lunch interval today at Lord’s.

Everyone associated with Middlesex would like to congratulate James and Ollie and wish them continued success during their careers with the Club.
