MIDDLESEX 2S VS SOMERSET 2S 2ND XI T20

Middlesex 2s are at Merchant Taylors' School playing Somerset 2s, in two back to back T20s at 11:30 and 15:00.

After the Middlesex Women took all of Somerset Women's wickets for just 48 runs in their T20 yesterday, before knocking off the deficit with 12 Overs to spare, Somerset will feel they have something to prove. Middlesex are once again missing Stirling from their batting line up, but Balbirnie is in great form and will want to make a big total after his low score against Gloucestershire firsts yesterday.

News from the toss, 1st Match:

Somerset Second XI won toss and decided to bat

The squad is: Gubbins, Higgins, Balbirnie, Eskinazi, White, Lace, Holden, Rayner, Fairhead, Podmore, Arif, Bamber

 

 1st Match 1st Innings:

Somerset finish on 151 for 5 from their 20 overs. Higgins took 2 wickets to take out both members of a settled opening partnership of 77. Podmore and Arif took 1 each and Eskinazi ran out Barrow.

1st Match 2nd Innings:

Middlesex finish the game off in 17.1 overs on 155 for 1. Higgins with 77* off 56 and Balbirnie 51 off 39. Well done guys!

1st Innings 2nd Match:

After their 20 overs Middlesex were 164 for 6, Gubbins run out on 47, Rayner 43, Eskinazi 31, great effort by the whole team!

Middlesex win their 2nd match against Somerset by 47 runs, getting them all out for 117.
3 wickets for Podmore, 2 from Arif and Bamber, and 1 each from Rayner and Holden. Great team effort!
