James Harris tackles the 2015 Big Bike Ride

over 8 years ago | Uncategorised

We're less than a couple of weeks away from the second 'Big Bike Ride’, which this year is taking place between the 9th and the 13th October 2015. The gruelling challenge sees cyclists tackle an incredible 370 miles from Truro in Cornwall to the Kia Oval in South London - all in aid of two very worthy charities.

After the huge success for the first Big Bike Ride, which took place last year from Durham to Lord’s, the cyclists are back for a new challenge to raise money once again for the PCA Benevolent Fund and the Tom Maynard Trust.

Like last year, it will no doubt prove to be a challenging few days in the saddle for all the participants, and we're proud to say that fresh from his heroics this year in the County Championship, our very own James Harris is once again taking to his bike for the challenge!

After a long and tough season the challenge ahead for James will prove anything but straightforward, however he's been getting in plenty of miles since the summer has finished, to get himself into the best possible condition to complete the challenge. Any way you are able to support James would be much appreciated, as he looks to reach his fundraising target of £1000. To support James and make a donation, click here ... https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/jamesharris5

Speaking of the challenge that lies ahead, James said.....

“I absolutely love my cycling, and the last ‘Big Bike Ride’ was seriously tough, but I loved it. When the opportunity came around again I jumped at the chance to take it on. With both charities being close to my heart its an easy challenge to get up for and to raise money for two very good causes. Any help you can offer, however large or small, would be much appreciated, and will go a long way towards helping out the charities. Here's hoping everyone winters well and I hope to see many of you next season”

Everyone at Middlesex County Cricket Club wishes James all the very best of luck in the challenge ahead. Go well fella and do us all proud!
