MIDDLESEX SQUAD INJURY UPDATE FROM CLUB PHYSIO PETER WAXMAN

over 6 years ago | Uncategorised

This morning we spoke with the club's Physiotherapist, Peter Waxman, to get an update on the current status of injuries within the Middlesex playing squad...

ADAM VOGES: Adam has now fully recovered from the calf injury he was carrying and has been declared fit for Middlesex's next four-day Specsavers County Championship clash against Surrey, starting at the Kia Oval on Monday 28th August.

PAUL STIRLING: Paul has also been carrying a calf injury, which he sustained when playing against Surrey at the Kia Oval in the NatWest T20 Blast a few weeks ago. He is making great progress after a period of recuperation, and whilst not passed fit for four day cricket to this point, he has been fit enough for Twenty20 cricket, and is expected to make a full recovery for him to be available for Middlesex's trip to the Oval next Monday in the County Championship.

NICK GUBBINS: Nick is making steady progress recovering from the hamstring injury he sustained playing against Warwickshire in Middlesex's last County Championship clash at Lord's. Whilst not fit now, he continues to make good progress, and is expected to be fully fit to return to action in early September.

SAM ROBSON: Sam has made an excellent recovery from the hamstring injury he also picked up when playing against Warwickshire and is expected to be fully fit to play against Surrey at the Oval.

RYAN HIGGINS: Ryan sustained a right shoulder injury whilst fielding on Friday against Glamorgan in Cardiff. He has since undergone x-rays and scans which have revealed an injury to the Acromioclavicular joint. The injury is not as serious as it could have been and we are hopeful that Ryan will be fit and available to return to action in three weeks time after a period of recuperation.

JAMES FULLER: James unfortunately requires further surgery on his right elbow which will see him miss the rest of the current season. Whilst James will play no further part this year, the long term prognosis is good for a full recovery to fitness post surgery.
