Resuming on 40/3 Middlesex got off to a disappointing start as Eskinazi was dismissed shortly after the restart. Things didn't get much better for Middlesex as regular wickets fell on the final day at Taunton with the visitors eventually being dismissed for 113, thus losing the game by 231 runs. Unfortunately the defeat, coupled with Hampshire's draw with Warwickshire ended our hopes of survival and confirmed the club's relegation into Division Two.
