North Middlesex Cricket Club is seeking a Head Grounds Person for their Park Road ground.
The role is a full-time position with a competitive salary commensurate to experience and skills.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be an integral part of a thriving club with a playing membership of more than 60 adults and 250 juniors.
About The Role
North Middlesex Cricket Club is seeking a full-time Head Grounds Person with the experience and dedication to undertake the preparation and maintenance of playing and practice areas at their Park Road ground, London N8 8JJ.
The Park Road ground is a self-contained ground with 3 squares. During the cricket season the ground is used throughout the week and weekends for their adult and junior fixtures, training sessions, and other matches. Their outfield has been voted the best in the Middlesex Premier League by the Umpires Panel for the last 5 years.
As Head Grounds Person, you will report to the Chairman, and your responsibilities will include the planning of the use of the ground, preparation of cricket pitches to an excellent standard (including outfield and boundaries) for all matches at Park Road, general ground maintenance and improvements (during and pre- and post-season), machinery maintenance (over recent years they have invested in new top of the range equipment), and other general duties as directed. While assistance will be provided for some tasks, this is very much a ‘hands on’ role.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience working as a cricket grounds person and possess significant knowledge of cricket surface provision and management.
Candidates should be organised and proactive, remain calm in a busy and demanding environment, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and possess a flexible attitude to working hours (prepared to work weekends and bank holidays as required).
How To Apply
Please email a brief covering letter along with your CV to North Middlesex Cricket Club's Chairman, Stephen Edwards: [email protected]
Deadline for applications: 8th January 2021
The successful candidate is required to be available to begin work on the grounds and square to ensure the club's facilities are ready for the start of the 2021 season.
