Available Role – Chair, Middlesex Cricket

Middlesex Cricket, a members' club based at Lord's is responsible for cricket, from men's and women's professional teams to recreational cricket for all ages within 17 London Boroughs that form the county of Middlesex.

We are looking to appoint a non-executive Chair in early '23. The new Chair will be an individual of outstanding achievement, with the time, passion and commitment to devote to the Board and associated stakeholders at this important time in the development of the sport, representing the Club at a variety of levels ranging from local recreational cricket clubs and associations through to the government, and the ECB and MCC. They will chair a talented group of similarly committed leaders and work closely with the Chief Executive Officer of Middlesex Cricket. The successful candidate is likely to have a strong background of experience gained in a number of possible sectors such as a corporate, sporting environment or not for profit and is likely to have experience as a Trustee or Non-Executive Director with a strong understanding of risk and governance together with a collaborative approach and desire to bring their skills and commitment to further develop cricket across the County both at the elite and recreational level and ensuring our sport remains inclusive to all within our community.

Principal Responsibilities

Time Commitment

The time commitment required is variable depending on the needs of the role at any given time - perhaps as much as up to 1-2 days a week- including engaging with members at matches and members events throughout the season.

In addition, given the ongoing discussions around the High Performance Review, the Chair, along with the CEO, will need to engage with the ECB, the MCC and the wider cricket community in representing the interests of MCCC during 2023 and 2024.

We hope to attract candidates with the right skill set who have a positive desire to commit their time and energy and positively contribute to MCCC.
