T20 Eid Cup

Middlesex Cricket partnered with Road to Jannah (registered charity number 1156173) to host the second Eid Cup at the new PlayOn Sports Centre in Whitechapel.

What better way to celebrate Eid than by bringing cricketers from across London together to raise funds for the charity’s global education programme for orphans! 14 teams from across London, made up of South Asian players from between the ages of 16-50yrs, took part in the tournament.

Whilst the tournament was organised for a worthy cause and played in great spirit throughout, the games were still played with a strong competitive edge and desire to win.

Congratulations to Pakistan All Stars who edged out Lucky CC in the finals and Scintilla CC, who finished in 3rd place.

Yet again, this tournament illustrates the variety of approaches Middlesex Cricket is taking in order to engage with the South Asian community and to use cricket as a vehicle to make positive differences to people’s lives - not just within our County, but globally!

Middlesex Cricket Board would like to thank all of the teams who entered the tournament and all the staff at Road to Jannah for their efforts that made the tournament a great success.

We would also like to thank personally Prabit Nair from Klemintine.co.uk for sponsoring the teams’ kit. If you would like further information on the work of Road to Jannah, please contact Abdullah Khan on 07958 745690 or visit their website at www.roadtojannah.org.uk
