Middlesex 'Power Hitting' net session at Lord's

over 8 years ago | Uncategorised

When it comes down to it, there's no better skill for a batsman to possess in the modern day game than to hit the ball hard and to hit the ball long! Clearing the boundary, especially in the white ball formats, has become an art form, so we got the best along to give our boys a few pointers.

This week, the club secured the services of Julian Wood, former Hampshire professional cricketer, and now Hitting Coach of Major League Baseball franchise, the Texas Rangers, to visit Lord's and put the lads through a session of power hitting in the MCC Cricket Academy.

We popped along, caught up with Julian and filmed some the action, as the Middlesex squad spent a couple of hours under his watchful eye, monitoring their hand speed and ball exit speed amongst other far more technical matters!

If it's big hitting you like, then you should enjoy this quick three minute video!
