Middlesex’s 2016 McKinsey Cup road-show gets underway

Last week, starting on Monday 16th May, Middlesex Cricket in partnership with McKinsey & Co, kicked off their fourteen-day McKinsey Cup road show around the County.

This seven over hard ball cup competition commenced its first week with under 15 boys schools at North London Cricket Club where Stepney Green Academy and Christ’s College ran out winners and became the first teams through to our finals days, which are set for July 5th and July 6th.

On day two the competition moved to Harrow Town Cricket Club where sadly the weather got the better of proceedings, as heavy rain led to the pitches being deemed unplayable as the day was completely washed out. Establishing the finalists came down to a bowl out, which resulted in our next two winners, Queensmead and Preston Manor High School, prevailing and making their way through to the finals day.

Day three saw our most competitive day yet, played at Barn Elms Playing Fields. On a closely fought day of cricket, it was touch and go to see who would come through, however West London Free School and Isleworth & Syon held their nerve to progress through and complete the Middlesex County Mckinsey Cup line up.

Congratulations from everyone at Middlesex Cricket to all those who took part and to our finalists. We look forward to seeing you compete in finals day in July
