Toby Roland-Jones signs contract extension with Middlesex

Middlesex County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that Toby Roland-Jones has signed a two-year contract extension with the club that will see him remain at Lord’s until at least the end of the 2019 season.

Roland-Jones, 28, has been in impressive form for Middlesex this season and is the club’s leading wicket-taker across all forms of the game, with 32 wickets already to his name.

Since making his first eleven debut for the club back in April 2010 Roland-Jones has since gone on to make 73 first-class appearances, taking 268 wickets at an average of just 25, including 13 five wicket hauls, 52 List-A appearances, taking 83 wickets at 24, and 25 T20 appearances, taking 30 wickets at just 16.

This past winter Roland-Jones was rewarded with a call up to the England Lions squad, where he continued to impress in two fixtures against the United Arab Emirates in Dubai.

Middlesex’s Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser, commented…

“I am thrilled that Toby will be a Middlesex player for at least the next four years. He is an outstanding cricketer who, in the past two or three years, has become one of the leading domestic players in the country.

His record is superb and there are very few, if any, better bowlers than him who are yet to play international cricket. As well as being a fine player he is a top bloke. We are lucky to have him.”

On extending his contract with Middlesex, Roland-Jones added…

“I’m delighted to have signed a contract extension with Middlesex until the end of the 2019 season.

I am extremely grateful to the club for all the help, support and development they’ve given me since I joined the club as a youngster and I couldn’t be prouder or happier to have signed new terms that see me extend my stay here at Lord’s for a further two years.

We have an exciting and talented group of players here in the Middlesex squad, with a terrific dressing room culture. Collectively we share the same ambition to drive the club forwards and secure some silverware, which is something that we are all very focused on achieving.”
