over 6 years ago | Uncategorised

Middlesex Cricket today announced a thirteen man squad for the three day match against Cambridge MCCU starting at Fenners tomorrow.

James Franklin will captain a strong side, in what is the club's final outing ahead of their opening Specsavers County Championship clash of the season away to Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl next week.

The side were last in action up at Merchant Taylors' School earlier this week, where on day one of the two day friendly against Durham, Middlesex bowled out the visitors for 306, with James Franklin, Tom Helm and Ollie Rayner each picking up a brace of wickets. On day two, with the bat, Ryan Higgins hit an impressive 138, and was well supported by Sam Robson, 77, Nick Gubbins, 53, and John Simpson, who ended the day unbeaten on 46, as Middlesex replied with 324 for 4. Over the course of the two days in Northwood there were plenty of positives to take away and into this encounter against Cambridge MCCU.
