NATHAN SOWTER SIGNS NEW TWO YEAR CONTRACT WITH MIDDLESEX

Middlesex Cricket is delighted to announce that Nathan Sowter has signed a new two-year contract with club, which will see him remain at Lord's until at least the end of the 2019 season.

Sowter, who made his mark at Middlesex originally as a white ball cricketer, predominantly in the NatWest T20 Blast, has since proved his worth in other formats of the game, and this new deal sees him available for Middlesex in all three formats.

Sowter's debut for Middlesex came in May 2015 against Kent at Lord's in the NatWest T20 Blast, when he burst onto the scene, taking 2 for 2 in just 4 balls.

He has since taken a total of 27 T20 wickets in 30 appearances, and one first-class wicket, which came on debut in Middlesex's recent Specsavers County Championship match against Warwickshire at Lord's.

Speaking of Sowter's new deal, Angus Fraser, Middlesex Cricket's Managing Director of Cricket commented...

"Nathan has developed as a cricketer since he first signed with Middlesex and he thoroughly deserves this contract.

"He has become a valuable member of our T20 side and will no doubt contribute in other forms of the game too.

"He brings energy and commitment whenever he plays."

Sowter himself said...

"I'm absolutely delighted to have reached agreement on a new deal with Middlesex Cricket.

It's a real privilege and honour for me to play for such a well-respected and successful county and to be able to call Lord's Cricket Ground my home for the next two years.

"It's been a long journey to get to this point, with some tough decisions along the way, and I'm now delighted that the future is settled here for me at Middlesex and I can look forward to contributing on the field and to helping the club achieve success moving forward in all formats.
