Match One Result – Kent win by 8 runs
Kent won the toss and decided to bat first on a sunny day in Uxbridge. The visiting side attacked the Middlesex bowling from the off, and despite losing the early wicket of Tredwell, were able to progress at around 10 runs an over going past the halfway mark.
Hussain & Blake came and went, but Robinson continued to bat aggressively past his half century, until he was finally dismissed for 63.
Despite losing 2 further wickets, Kent were able to add another 60 runs in the final 7 overs on their way to posting an impressive total on 188-6.
Walallawita picked up 2 wickets, whilst Barber, Andersson, Sowter and Hollman all picked up 1 each.
Middlesex did not get off to an ideal start to their reply, losing Lace and Andersson in the first 5 overs.
Davies, who came in at 3, underpinned the host’s innings, batting beautifully despite wickets falling around him.
Carter joined him at the crease in the 9th over, and the pair put on a 100 run partnership to keep Middlesex in sight of an impressive chase.
However, Carter was eventually dismissed for 40 with just an over to spare, and Middlesex fell short of the Kent total by 8 runs, despite Davies finishing unbeaten on 89.
Match Two Result – Kent win by 57 runs
Kent’s top scorer from the first match was dismissed cheaply in the second, as Robinson went for 3 off the bowling of Barber early on. However, this did not halt Kent in their charge to beat their first match total.
Gidman found runs easy to come by, and once Blake joined him in the 6th over, the pair never looked back.
Both secured their half centuries, and maintained the run rate in excess of 10 an over during their stay at the crease.
Blake eventually went for 65 from just 30 deliveries, but Gidman continued on to 79 before Sowter dismissed him.
Kent went on to make 205-8 from their 20 overs, a total which looked difficult to beat.
Middlesex lost early wickets again in reply, with Lace, Davies and Cracknell all being dismissed before the end of the 5th over.
Andersson provided an anchor to the innings, and eventually went on to hit 74 before he was dismissed in the 16th over.
Despite this, Middlesex were not able to match the tempo Kent had set, and sadly fell short of the Kent total by 57 runs by the end of the 20 overs, finishing on 148-6.
