Nick Gubbins named as Middlesex’s Brooks Macdonald Player of the Month for May 2018
Today at Lord’s Nick Gubbins was named as Middlesex Cricket’s Brooks Macdonald Player of the Month for May 2018.
Gubbins started the month by hitting a century in Middlesex’s Specsavers County Championship clash against Sussex in Hove, before falling one short of repeating the milestone in his very next innings against Gloucestershire - dismissed on 99 at Lord’s.
214 runs in three innings saw Gubbins finish May with a red-ball batting average of 71.33.
Moving into the white-ball fifty over format, Gubbins’ fine form continued, as he hit three half centuries in Middlesex’s first four South Group matches against Essex, Glamorgan and Sussex.
235 List-A runs in May from six innings saw the left-hander finish the month with a white-ball average of 39.16.
Simon Wombwell, Director of Brooks Macdonald, Middlesex’s Principal Sponsor, presented Gubbins with a magnum of Brooks Macdonald champagne and a cheque for £1,000 in front of the Lord’s Pavilion during the interval of Middlesex’s Royal London One-Day Cup clash with Surrey.
