PAUL STIRLING WINS MIDDLESEX CRICKET’S JUNE BROOKS MACDONALD PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD
During the interval of this evening’s sold-out Vitality Blast clash between Middlesex and Surrey at the Home of Cricket, Paul Stirling was named as the June 2018 Brooks Macdonald Player of the Month. With Stirling preparing for his innings in the dressing room, Middlesex’s President John Emburey received the award on his behalf, presented by Brooks Macdonald’s Group Deputy CEO, Andrew Shepherd.
In a month that saw Middlesex play just two County Championship clashes and two Royal London One-Day Cup matches, Stirling hit a crucial half century in Middlesex’s nail-biting victory against Leicestershire at Grace Road and followed it up with another half-century against Surrey in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
The pinnacle of Stirling’s month was when he hit an unbeaten hundred against Gloucestershire in Bristol to help Middlesex post a match-winning total of 322 for 3 at the County Ground.
Stirling’s efforts in May took his run tally to 515 in eight Royal London One-Day Cup matches for Middlesex, in which he averaged 73.57 and hit three hundreds and one half-century.
