ESKINAZI, GUBBINS, HELM & HOLDEN SIGN LONG-TERM EXTENSIONS

MIDDLESEX CRICKET SECURES LONG-TERM SERVICES OF FOUR CORE PLAYERS

Middlesex Cricket is today delighted to announce that four of the club’s core players have put pen to paper on new agreements, with Stephen Eskinazi, Nick Gubbins, Tom Helm and Max Holden all signing new long-term deals.

In the week that Stuart Law was unveiled to the UK press, having taken charge at the club just a fortnight ago, nine players have now committed their long-term futures to the club.

Eskinazi, who finished last year as the club’s leading first-class run scorer and on top of the batting averages played in all but two of the club’s fourteen Championship matches in 2018, whilst Holden, who finished as the club’s third highest run-scorer, averaged just over thirty and missed just one Championship game all term.

On signing his new contract Eskinazi commented…

”After a challenging few seasons for the group I am really looking forward to contributing to a return to winning ways. We are a hungry group of players and are all excited about the opportunity to get the club back to Division One and challenging in white-ball cricket. The club is like a family to me and I am really proud to commit my future to it.”

Gubbins commented…

I am absolutely delighted to extend my contract with this great club. It continues to be my dream to play here at Lord’s having joined as a fourteen-year-old. There have certainly been some ups and downs over the last few years, but at the end of the day, that is sport. We have a really-exciting squad who are thoroughly looking forward to the challenge of promoting the club back into Division One and to compete across all competitions. It's an exciting time to be a Middlesex player!”

Helm said…

“I am delighted to sign a new contract with Middlesex. I can’t thank the club enough for the support they continue to show. I look forward to contributing to a winning side in the years to come.”

Holden said…

“I’m delighted to have extended my contract with Middlesex. Having represented the club since the age of eleven it has always been my dream to play at Lord’s and for Middlesex. To be able to call this place home for the next few years is something I’m extremely proud of. I’m excited about where this group of players can go and I’m hoping to contribute to a successful few years for the club.”

Angus Fraser, Middlesex Cricket’s Managing Director of Cricket commented…

"I am delighted Stevie, Nick, Tom and Max have signed deals that will see them play for Middlesex for the foreseeable future. These are players entering the prime of their career and the fact they will be spending this time playing for Middlesex is something that all our supporters should look forward to.

"They have all shown the ability to perform at the highest level and on the biggest domestic stages. I expect each of their careers to continue to develop and that the quartet will provide the backbone of the Middlesex 1st XI for many years to come."
