FORMER MIDDLESEX CRICKETER RON HOOKER PASSES AWAY

1935 to 2019

Middlesex Cricket is saddened to hear of the passing of Ron Hooker, who played for the club between the years of 1956 and 1969.

Born in Lower Clapton in February 1935, the right-handed all-rounder made his debut for the club at the age of twenty in May 1956, hitting an unbeaten 77 against Derbyshire in Chesterfield.

In 300 First-Class and 26 List-A appearances for Middlesex Ron hit over 8,500 runs across both formats, took 527 wickets and held 316 catches in the field, before finishing his playing career with Buckinghamshire.

The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Middlesex Cricket are with Ron’s family and many friends at this very sad time.
