DAWID MALAN RELEASED FROM ENGLAND SQUAD WITH GROIN INJURY

INJURED MALAN WITHDRAWN FROM ENGLAND SQUAD

Middlesex Cricket is disappointed to report that Dawid Malan has been withdrawn from the current England schedule of matches after picking up a muscle injury to his left groin whilst batting yesterday in England's ODI against Ireland in Malahide.

Malan will return to Middlesex duty where the club's medical team will assess the injury and manage his recovery.

Having not yet seen Malan Middlesex's medical team were unable to comment on the severity of Malan's injury or on the length of his recovery.

Malan's withdrawal from the England squad opens the door for Sussex opener Phil Salt, who joins up with the England squad to replace the injured Middlesex batsman, and is available for selection tomorrow when England take on Pakistan in an International T20 clash at Sophia Gardens.
