Middlesex Cricket is delighted to announce that after hitting 323 runs in Middlesex Women’s opening four Women’s County Championship matches, at an average of 107.66, Sophia Dunkley has won the first MVP award of the 2019 season.

Dunkley’s run-fest got underway in earnest against Worcestershire in just the second Championship match of the season, when she hit her maiden hundred in senior cricket – an incredible knock of 138 at Mill Hill School.

A half-century followed – 51 against Durham, before Dunkley again hit three figures, an unbeaten 114 against Wales away at Pontarddulais Cricket Club.

Dunkley’s leg-spin also picked up nine wickets in the period at an average of just 7.33, with best bowling figures of 4 for 18 coming against Durham at Willington Cricket club.

Middlesex Cricket would like to thank Sunshine Garden Centre for their sponsorship of the opening Women’s MVP Award of the 2019 season - voted for by the players and coaching staff of Middlesex Women.
