MIDDLESEX CRICKET APPOINTS THREE NEW DIRECTORS TO THE CLUB’S BOARD

Following a two-month appointment process Middlesex Cricket today announced the addition of three Directors to the club’s Board.

The three Directors, Edward Lord OBE, Richard Sykes and Sasha White QC, have been appointed by the nine already confirmed members of the Board, following recommendations received from a Nominations Committee, comprising the Chair of the club, the Treasurer, two of the elected Directors and a non-voting adviser.

The newly appointed Board will come into being with immediate effect and will be formally ratified by the club’s membership at next year’s AGM.

Edward Lord OBE joins the board with extensive experience in corporate governance, sports organisations and working with youth and diversity and inclusion organisations. They have been an elected Councillor on the City of London Corporation for over 18 years – currently holding a number of senior roles, and previously led for the Corporation on the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Richard Sykes, a chartered accountant and retired PwC partner, is re-appointed to the club’s Board, having first been co-opted on to the Board three years ago. In the past three years, Richard has played an integral role on the club’s existing Board and brings experience in sports governance, administration of sports organisations, finance, and is currently a cricket independent member on the ECB’s regulatory Committee.

Sasha White QC brings a wealth of experience from his career in the legal profession, has consulted to many professional sports organisations, including Middlesex Cricket, and has extensive knowledge of working within cricket, having been active in the recreational game since an early age.

Middlesex Cricket’s Chairman Mike O’Farrell, said:

"We have been extremely fortunate that so many capable people offered their help and expertise and we believe that with Edward, Richard and Sasha we have 3 individuals who, together with the other members of the Board will help Middlesex Cricket play its part in ensuring that this great game continues to offer so much to players and supporters alike "
