ACADEMY TAKE ON A 'RIDE TO LA MANGA' CHALLENGE TO FUND TRAINING CAMP

THE MIDDLESEX ACADEMY SQUAD ARE WORKING HARD TO FUND A PRE-SEASON TRAINING CAMP IN LA MANGA

As the old proverb goes - "you don't get something for nothing!"

This is particularly true if you're a member of the Middlesex Academy squad, who will be heading off to La Manga in Spain later this month for a pre-season training camp - but they're being made to work hard to earn their place on the plane!

To help fund their trip all of the Academy squad have been asked to raise funds through sponsorship, as they collectively cycle the exact distance from their Academy base in Finchley, North West London, all the way to La Manga in Murcia, Spain. That's a staggering 1,330 miles - all completed on an exercise bike at the Indoor School in Finchley!

Over in Spain the Academy squad will benefit from sessions with three of the Middlesex professional squad, as Max Holden, Martin Andersson and Robbie White join the youngsters on the trip and work with them throughout their stay in Spain.

Whilst the cycle ride is going well and the boys are well on their way to completing the 1,300 mile 'journey', their fundraising isn't gaining quite as much momentum!

They'd love the support of Middlesex members and supporters as they continue their immense cycling challenge. So if you're able to spare anything, your support would be greatly appreciated by all at the Academy.
