MIDDLESEX CRICKET PLAYER TRAINING UPDATE - COVID-19

Following a meeting between Middlesex's Cricket Management Team and subsequent to this morning's press release, the club has informed its professional playing staff that group training will cease at least until 1 April 2020.

Each of the players will be given a personalised physical training programme that they would be able to complete at home. The club has also ceased any Women's, Boys and Girls group training sessions until the middle of April 2020. The women, boys and girls involved in these groups will also be given instruction/programmes to follow during this period of inactivity.

Commenting on the decision, Middlesex Cricket's Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser, said:

"With the information we are receiving changing on an hourly basis it is almost impossible to make short term plans. After our responsibility to society as a whole our number one responsibility is the welfare and wellbeing of the players, staff and members of Middlesex Cricket, and we would not want to put plans in place that could subsequently be seen to jeopardise these responsibilities.

"The break gives the management team time to plan and devise potential training methods that satisfy the guidelines that are being laid out by the Government and England and Wales Cricket Board."
