MIDDLESEX AND SURREY WOMEN TO RESUME LONDON CUP RIVALRY THIS MONTH

LONDON CUP RIVALRY TO RESUME AT THE KIA OVAL ON 22ND JULY

Middlesex Women will head to the Kia Oval on Wednesday July 22nd, where they will take on their rivals Surrey Women in a floodlit T20 match for the London Cup.

Action will begin at 6pm and the match will be the first to be staged at the ground since the start of lockdown measures in early March. The match will be fully streamed on both Surrey and Middlesex channels.

Surrey Director of Women’s Cricket Ebony Rainford-Brent and Middlesex legend Beth Morgan – who became the first ever female Honorary Life Vice President of Middlesex last month – will be working closely with the teams involved, alongside the squad’s regular coaching and management staff.

The game will be played for the London Cup, a trophy inaugurated in 2015 which has been competed every year since. Surrey are yet to hold the cup, with Middlesex Women winning every single one of the five contests the capital's two sides have had since the competition launched.

With honour and pride at stake, Middlesex Women will go into the clash intent on protecting their 100% record over Surrey and look to get the shortened 2020 cricketing summer off to a positive and winning start!
