MIDDLESEX V KENT | PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY AT MTS

MIDDLESEX TAKE ON KENT IN TWO-DAY PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY

Today at 10.30am, at Merchant Taylors’ School in Northwood, Middlesex will begin the second of their three pre-season friendlies, as preparations for the 2021 season gather pace.

We take on Kent in a two-day, red ball clash, played over today and tomorrow, Behind Closed Doors - under stage three Covid regulations.

Sadly members will be unable to attend the match to watch the action unfold in person, and after the Club very successfully tested out the live stream set-up throughout the Yorkshire friendly earlier this week, to get rid of any gremlins in the streaming production unit and to dust off the cobwebs built up over a winter away from streaming, the Club will not be live streaming this clash against Kent. Sorry for any disappointment this causes.

Middlesex supporters will however be able to follow the progress of the match via a live scorecard of the game, plus follow regular updates on the club's social media feeds.

We sincerely hope all supporters enjoyed the live stream we produced over the two days of the Yorkshire game, which has been viewed well over 35,000 times, and this will set the benchmark for all other counties to follow this year. We have received some outstanding feedback.

This season, Middlesex will be providing an enhanced live streaming service at each and every competitive home match, in all three competition formats, from Lord’s, Radlett and Merchant Taylors’ School, using three manned broadcast cameras, to bring our members and followers the very best coverage we can from all our home matches. The only exception to this, at this stage, is the Middlesex v Surrey Vitality Blast clash, due to rights restrictions, as the game is scheduled to be shown on Sky Cricket.

Middlesex have made Merchant Taylors’ School their home over the last few weeks, with Stuart Law’s side training throughout pre-season on the grass nets inside the marquee.

MATCH NEWS

Middlesex will bat for 60 overs today in the opening two sessions, and Kent will bat for thirty in the final session of the day.

Roles will be reversed tomorrow, weather permitting, with Kent batting for 60 overs first, and Middlesex closing the game at the crease in the final session.

Stuart Law has named thirteen players in his squad for this opening pre-season clash, as follows:

Stephen Eskinazi (Captain)

Martin Andersson

Jack Davies

Nick Gubbins

James Harris

Max Harris

Tom Helm

Max Holden

Tim Murtagh
