MIDDLESEX CRICKET SIGN VARUN CHOPRA ON LOAN FOR WHITE-BALL CRICKET

Middlesex Cricket is today delighted to announce that top order batsman, Varun Chopra, is joining the Club immediately, on loan from Essex, and will be available for the club throughout the duration of our Royal London Cup campaign .

Chopra will be named in Middlesex’s Vitality Blast squad to face Kent at Lord’s on Friday night, and is then available for seven of the Club’s Royal London Cup group phase matches, missing just one game, when Middlesex face Essex on Sunday 25th July in the opening round of matches.

Chopra, 34, has a wealth of white-ball playing experience under his belt, having played 114 List-A matches and 115 T20 games, with over 7,500 white-ball runs to his name, and a List-A average of over 46 and T20 average of just under 30.

Speaking of the signing of Chopra, Middlesex head Coach Stuart Law, commented:

“We are excited to have Varun with us on loan for the next phase of the summer. He brings a wealth of experience, and his record in white-ball cricket is excellent.

“I look forward to working with Chops over the coming weeks”

Varun Chopra commented:
