Middlesex Cricket is today delighted to announce that batsman Robbie White has signed a long-term extension to his contract with the Club, which will see him remain at Lord’s until at least the end of 2024.

Top-order batter, White, 26, made his First-Class debut for Middlesex in the 2018 season, having already made six First-Class appearances for Loughborough MCCU before signing professional teams with the Club. He has since gone on to make 26 First-Class appearances for Middlesex, cementing a regular berth in the Club’s red-ball side this season.

Four half centuries in the opening five games of this season saw White find some good form, although he had to wait until late August against Derbyshire for his maiden century to arrive, when he scored 120 in Middlesex’s victory at Lord’s. He backed this up with another century in the win against Sussex in the next game when hitting 110 at Hove, and ended this season as the Club’s second highest run-scorer in the County Championship, with 765 runs at an average of 34.77.

White also has a further ten appearances to his name in both white-ball formats for Middlesex, hitting his highest score of 55 against Durham in the Royal London Cup earlier this summer at Radlett.

Speaking of White signing a long-term contract extension, Head of Men's Professional Cricket, Alan Coleman, commented:

“In the last eighteen months, Robbie’s quality as a batter has really shone through in first team cricket. He has excelled in tough situations and shown great character and composure to succeed at those times.

“He is a leader and well respected in the changing room, and I am excited to watch him continue to progress in first team cricket during the next 3 seasons.”

On extending his contract with Middlesex, White himself added:

“I’m delighted to have signed an extension for the next three years with Middlesex - a club I’ve played for since I was nine years old and am incredibly proud to represent.

“Whilst results haven’t been good enough over the last few years, there’s a great excitement working towards next season and I’m hoping to play my part in moving the club forward and achieving success and silverware in the coming seasons.”
