MIDDLESEX IN THE COMMUNITY - HOW A PROJECT TO HELP A YOUNG GROUP OF AFGHAN REFUGEES IS MAKING SUCH A DIFFERENCE

A few weeks ago, almost 40 young Afghan refugees began their lives in the UK at Hallfield School, and our Participation Team were invited in to run a regular cricket coaching course to help the youngsters settle in to their new lives in London.

A term on, and with the kids all now sporting playing shirts provided by Middlesex Cricket, and enjoying an array of children's toys provided through the initiative of Middlesex Participation team member Matt Tomes-Smith, who delivers the programme, we caught up with the progress of the project at the school, spoke to both the school's Head Teacher and PE Teacher, and found out from them what an incredible impact it has made.

Our thanks go to everyone at Hallfield School in helping us to make a difference to the young lives of all those who are enjoying our coaching sessions.
