AMARA CARR VISITS BUSHY PARK GIRLS

AMARA CARR MAKES GUEST APPEARANCE AT BUSHY PARK GIRLS’ TRAINING SESSION

Last Sunday (6 March), Sunrisers and Middlesex Women wicket-keeper Amara Carr visited the Bushy Park Girls U13’s training session.

After being introduced to an unusually quiet, starstruck group of girls, Amara answered some fantastic questions on her career progression to date in an insightful Q&A session. The Bushy Park girls found out information including how Amara started playing cricket, who her role models are, and what she studied at university.

Once the warm-up dodgeball was completed, with Amara being a part of the victorious team, she got involved with each of the four drills, offering tips and her insight into the game. The drills included playing the sweep shot, practicing the front foot drive, and a very competitive close-fielding exercise. The session ended with a game of continuous cricket with Amara behind the stumps.

Andrea Polley, Bushy Park Girls Head Coach, said: “It was brilliant for the girls to meet a real, live pro! Amara getting as involved as she did, gave our girls a huge lift and sense of achievement.

We can't wait to have her again!”

Thank you to Amara for attending the session and helping to deliver a fantastic training plan alongside the coaches at Bushy Park Girls. If your women’s section is interested in having Amara or another of the Sunrisers players attend one of their sessions, please complete this form and contact Sharon Eyers.
