ISHAAN KAUSHAL SIGNS ROOKIE CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH MIDDLESEX

ISHAAN KAUSHAL SIGNS EXTENSION TO ROOKIE CONTRACT WITH MIDDLESEX CRICKET

Middlesex Cricket is excited to announce that young right-arm seamer, Ishaan Kaushal, has extended his professional rookie contract with the Club until the end of the 2024 season.

Kaushal, still only 20, first signed rookie terms with Middlesex in the summer of 2021 for the remainder of last season, however picked up a pelvic injury which prevented him from making any breakthrough in 2021, however his contract was extended at the end of last summer for the entire 2022 season.

This latest extension sees the young Hillingdon born Kaushal commit to the next two seasons with Middlesex, during which time the local Wycombe House CC quick will be looking to push for first team representation.

Any continuation of the form he has shown this season will stand him in good stead, as he is the Club’s leading wicket-taker in Second Eleven cricket this year and has been bowling beautifully, picking up seventeen Second Eleven County Championship wickets at an average of just 18.

Speaking of Kaushal committing to an extension with the Club, Head of Men’s Performance Cricket, Alan Coleman, commented:

“We are thrilled that Ishaan has committed the next two years of his career to Middlesex and are really looking forward to helping this young man develop as a cricketer.

“He is an exceptional talent and coming through the Middlesex age-groups and Academy system he has always stood out as one to watch. He applies himself in everything he does, is keen to learn and develop, and is a pleasure to work with.

“He bowls with great accuracy, on a good attacking length, and asks plenty of questions of the batters. I have little doubt that over the next two years Ishaan will develop into a fine cricketer.

“His performances this summer for the Second Eleven show that he is progressing well, and we are excited that Ishaan is part of our plans moving forward.”
