Middlesex Cricket is delighted today to announce the launch of an exciting new campaign, ‘Connecting Communities’, with the unveiling of a brand-new playing shirt, exclusively created by Nike, inspired by London’s Street art.
The limited-edition shirt is being worn by the Middlesex players at today’s Vitality Blast South Group encounter against the Kent Spitfires, and its unveiling at the Home of Cricket is the springboard to begin fundraising for Middlesex’s new charitable arm, Middlesex in the Community, a charity the Club is establishing to create more opportunities for people within the many diverse communities that the county of Middlesex comprises.
The Club has a proud history of working within its communities and wants to use cricket as a tool to unite Londoners of all backgrounds, and the Connecting Communities campaign will see Middlesex engaging with local communities across the county, creating positive experiences through cricket, to bring Londoners, and especially the next generation of cricketers and fans, closer to the club.
Key to the success of the new charity is the fundraising that will allow us to continue and grow our work in the community – with all funds raised by the campaign being invested into the Club’s ongoing community engagement activities.
All players within the Middlesex squad will be signing their Middlesex Connecting Communities playing shirts at the end of the match, which will be put into an online auction, where each shirt will be available to bid for, giving cricket lovers the opportunity to get their hands on a special piece of cricketing memorabilia.
