MARK STONEMAN RECEIVES MIDDLESEX COUNTY CAP AT LORD'S

MARK STONEMAN PRESENTED WITH MIDDLESEX COUNTY CAP AT LORD'S DURING MIDDLESEX VS GLAMORGAN CLASH

Last week, at the lunch interval on day three of Middlesex's County Championship encounter against Glamorgan, Middlesex opener Mark Stoneman was presented with his County Cap by Club President Mike Selvey in front of the Lord's Pavilion.

Stoneman, who joined Middlesex from near neighbours Surrey in the latter stages of the 2021 season, has been a regular in Middlesex's four-day side since joining the Club, and has, at the time of writing this article, hit 1,258 runs in 16 Championship matches for Middlesex at an average of 50.32 in the First-Class format.

In addition he was a regular in Middlesex's Royal London Cup campaign this year, playing in each and every game, hitting 194 runs, hitting a highest score of 62.

In his career to date, he has amassed over 17.600 runs in all formats, has represented England at Test level on 11 occasions, and has won four County Championship titles in his time at Durham and Surrey. He has 36 centuries to his name as a player, 29 in First-Class cricket and 7 in List-A cricket.

Receiving a County Cap is due recognition to a player for not only their performances for the Club, but also for their contributions to the wider game - in both senses Mark Stoneman has excelled and is a thoroughly deserving recipient.

Stoneman celebrated earning his Middlesex County Cap in typical fashion during the Glamorgan game - hitting the 29th First-Class century of his career.

Everyone at Middlesex Cricket would like to congratulate 'Rocky' on receiving his County Cap.
