AN UPDATE ON CHANGES TO ELITE CRICKET DEPARTMENT STRUCTURE

AN UPDATE ON CHANGES TO ELITE CRICKET DEPARTMENT STRUCTURE

As the Club continues to strive for sustainable success in both the men’s and women’s elite teams, the Club is making the following immediate changes;

Alan Coleman, currently Head of Men’s Performance Cricket, is appointed Director of Cricket, covering all aspects of men’s and women’s (Sunrisers) elite performance and pathways. Danni Warren Regional Director of Women’s Cricket will report to Alan on all cricket related matters and continue to report to Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Cornish, on all Sunrisers Business Development and organisational matters.

In order to provide the elite playing group the best sports science and medicine (SSSM) support possible, both the men’s and women’s SSSM teams will be merged, with the physiotherapy team being led by Peter Waxman as Head of Medical Services, and the Strength and Conditioning team being led by Head of Athletic Performance Andy Mitchell. Peter and Andy will continue to report to Alan Coleman.

The governance of Sunrisers will now sit under a ‘Sunrisers Board’ led by Middlesex, but to include representatives from both Essex and Northants, the other two first-class counties involved in Sunrisers. This will provide both Danni and Alan the support they need as Sunrisers continue to grow as a professional set up, moving to 10 full time contracted players for the 2023 season from 6 in 2022.
