UPDATE ON CLUB'S RECRUITMENT OF CHAIR TO REPLACE MIKE O'FARRELL

UPDATE FROM MIDDLESEX CRICKET ON THE APPOINTMENT OF A CLUB CHAIR TO REPLACE MIKE O’FARRELL

This week at Lord’s, at Middlesex Cricket’s latest Board meeting, the appointment of a Chair, to replace Mike O’Farrell, when he steps down from the role at the AGM in early April 2023, was discussed at length by the Club’s Board of Directors.

The importance of ensuring that Mike’s successor is the right person for the role, who understands the unique challenges of everything it presents, is a critical factor in their appointment.

The Club initially announced its search for a replacement for O’Farrell back in November last year, however, after a rigorous recruitment process which concluded last month, the Club were unable to recommend to members a suitable replacement from those who applied for the role.

The Club can therefore now announce that following this week’s Board meeting, the Nominations Committee will begin the recruitment process again, with immediate effect, as the search to find the right Chair for the Club moving forwards continues.

Furthermore, with Mike stepping down on 4th April and given the length of time that it is likely to take to conduct the recruitment process to appoint a replacement, if no suitable successor is established by the AGM, an interim Chair will be proposed at the meeting for the ratification of the members. It is anticipated that this interim appointment, should it be required, will be from the Club’s Board or Executive Management group.
