TOM HELM COMMITS LONG-TERM FUTURE TO MIDDLESEX

TOM HELM SIGNS LONG-TERM CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH MIDDLESEX CRICKET

Middlesex Cricket is today delighted to announce that Tom Helm has signed a long-term contract extension with the Club.

Helm, 28, has committed the next four years of his future to Middlesex by signing a contract which will keep him at Lord’s until at least the end of the 2026 season.

The right-arm quick has been a Middlesex player for a decade, since making his professional debut in 2013 aged just 19. He has since clocked up 121 appearances for the Club, taking 218 wickets in the process across all three formats of the game.

Throughout that time Helm has been involved in most stages of the England international pathway, having played in the England Emerging Player Pathway programme, for England Under 19’s, For England Lions, and most recently being named in the full England squad for England’s historic tour to Pakistan.

In the last two seasons Helm has also begun to make a name for himself in the world of franchise cricket, with Birmingham Phoenix in the Hundred, and this winter when playing in trophy winning sides at the Abu Dhabi T10 with Deccan Gladiators and at the inaugural ILT20 tournament with the Gulf Giants.

Speaking of Helm committing his future to the Club, Director of Cricket, Alan Coleman commented:

“Tom has been a hugely important part of this developing Middlesex squad for many years now and his influence on our performances and on those around him continues to grow.

“Whilst Tom is only 28, he is now one of the senior members of our playing group and it is brilliant news for Middlesex that he has committed his long-term future to the Club.

“We are looking to build a side here that will be successful for many years to come, growing as a group together. To get there, it’s essential that the young talent we have coming through the group is balanced by the experience of players like Tom – to get such buy in to our long-term vision from the senior members of the side is great to see.

“We look forward to working with Tom for the next four years of his career and to him playing a pivotal role in our growth as a side.”

Tom Helm himself commented:

“I am delighted to extend my stay here at this wonderful club that’s already given me so much!

“I’m very excited about what’s to come and looking forward to building on the success of last year’s promotion.”
