COMPETITION | WIN A COPY OF NEW BOOK | MIDDLESEX CCC 'THE CHAMPIONSHIP YEARS'

WIN A COPY OF 'MIDDLESEX CCC - THE CHAMPIONSHIP YEARS'

Our thanks go to the publishers and authors of a newly released book 'Middlesex CCC - The Championship Years', who have very kindly donated five copies of the new title to us, to give away to five lucky fans, who will be enjoying a free copy of this new book if they are drawn at random from all entries received in our latest competition.

The new book, covers the thirteen County Championship titles that Middlesex County Cricket Club has won since its formation in 1864, from the very first title back in 1903, when Pelham 'Plum' Warner led the county side to victory, all the way through to 2016, when that incredible hat-trick from Toby-Roland-Jones saw us defeat Yorkshire on the final day of the season to clinch our latest piece of silverware.

These two Championship successes book-end another eleven titles in between, and each and every one of them is covered, looking back on some incredible times, when the likes of Denis Compton and Bill Edrich ruled the First-Class game in the 1940's, through to the incredible all-format successes of the 1980's under 'Captain Fantastic' Mike Brearley, and into the 1990's under Brearley's captaincy protégé, Mike Gatting.

With the help of the archives and eye witnesses, such as Gatting, John Emburey, Mike Selvey, Norman Cowans and many more, the book recaptures the drama and the inside story of the greatest days in Middlesex’s history.

To enter this competition, and stand a chance of winning one of the five books up for grabs, all you have to do is email us at [email protected] with your answer to this question - Who was the Middlesex Captain at Lord's in 2016 in the match against Yorkshire, when we lifted our last County Championship title?

Remember, send your answer to the question above to [email protected], and we will randomly select five winners to receive the book.
